My name is Dr. Harry L. Legum, and my background is in counseling/therapy, statistics and research. I received my Masters in Education in counseling from the Johns Hopkins University, Ph.D. in counseling from the George Washington University, while earning and maintaining the credentials of being a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. Prior to joining Coppin State University, I was a professional school counselor. I am currently a full professor in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Department of Psychology, Counseling, and Behavioral Health at Coppin State University for the past 22 years. In addition to being a member of several professional counseling organizations, I have presented at national and regional conferences, served on the editorial board for the Journal of Counseling and Development, American Association for the Behavioral and Social Sciences and published in refereed journals. My primary research interests include depression, anxiety, and coping skills with regard to its significance to counseling and academia.
